The group of boredom comes to life
Two goals in two minutes has made Boakye (left) a star

The Group of Boredom otherwise known as Group B came to life in a dramatic last 10 minutes in Mopti.

As Ghana drew level with Burkina Faso through Isaac Boagye, it meant Morocco had taken back second place from Burkina Faso. Boagye's volley two minutes later gave the vital second place to Ghana and sent both the Moroccans and distraught Bukinabe home.

Morocco entered the daty with the initiative thanks to their victory in the previous game over Burkina Faso, but that was snatched away from them when South Africa an in particular Nomvete came to life. The World Cup hopefuls won at a canter by 3-1 and indeed it could have been more. At last the Bafana Bafana looked a team able to make and execute decisions. It promises to be a cracker when they take on Mali in Kayes on Sunday.

Ghana scarcely deserve their good fortune as the decision to throw in a host of youngsters looks ill-advised without the help of experienced players. Burkina Faso's Toure stunned them with a free-kick that stands out like a beacon in a tournament where so far the standard of set plays has been poor.

The less said about what went on before the final day, the better. But what a final day.
