Dagano crowns a champion season

 
Dagano is the first from Burkina Faso to be win the Ebony Boot and it caps agreat season

The Ebony Boot, awarded to the best African player in the Belgian first division, has gone to the Burkina Faso's Beli Moumouni Dagano.

Dagano, who plays for the newly crowned champions Genk, received his award from Belgium's national team coach Robert Waseige.

The 22 year old Dagano joined Genk this season. He started his career with Cub Abidjan in the Ivory Coast and then moved to GBA.


At present Dagano has 24 caps for Burkina Faso and he played for the Burkinabe in the Cup of Nations in Mali.


The votes in the Ebony boot come from the coaches in the Belgian league's three divisions, the national coach and the sports press.


Fomer winners of the Ebony Boot include Nigeria's Daniel Amokachi, Celestine Babayaro and Godwin Okpara.
